    The year is 1967. The Beatles are the hype, America is at war in Vietnam and the Hippie Movement is in full swing in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco. After the Human Be-In is broadcast on T.V. kids from all over the country began to flock to the city, seeking refuge and somewhere to belong. Many of those stories go un-told. That is what The Haight is here to bring you. It's time to hear from those forsaken teens who bombarded the streets of 'Frisco in the summer of '67, dubbed the Summer of Love. During this time LSD and marijuana use was at an all time high. Harder drugs were also introduced into the scene. This Comm is not going to center on drug use but there will be a lot of it so be warned, now. Many of the kids had no where to go and slept on the street. It was not a pretty time but it was an amazing time. Whether your character is a run-away, an AWOL from the draft or just a free love hippie they are searching to belong in a world gone awry.
The times they are a'changin'.

Please place your holds below. We'd love a diverse amount of characters so keep in mind you can be a hippie, an AWOL-er (from the war in Vietnam), a Digger, a drug dealer, a musician ect! Also no challenges. Sorry. P means pending, naturally. All holds will last a week and if you need an extension one can be granted. NOTE: We realize how difficult it is to find PB's that match the times and therefore we aren't going to be anal and make you have them all hippie'd out. But please no overly pierced (since that didn't come into style until the 80s) or way scened out PBs. SCENE KIDS ARE OKAY! But they shouldn't be too pierced or modern looking- if that makes sense. Also no modern devices in any icons please - keep in mind there were no cell phones or ipods in '67, obviously.

Please make sure you have read the rules, this game is not like other games on IJ so please be familiar with everything before applying. We are accepting on examples so please make sure you have included either a compilation journal or at least one thread and one journal example. They can be either drop boxed or on your journal. Remember this game is set in 1967 so keep that in mind! Also have a FRIENDS ONLY post up as well as a SCENE REQUEST post. We will be requiring an IC AIM name to be able to keep in contact IC wise.
